There's a moment Dr. Scott Richmond doesn't talk about to
impress anyone. He talks about it because it's the moment
everything changed — and because chances are, you've had a
version of it too.
It was a couple of days after his birthday and being
released from the hospital. He was lying on a bathroom floor in
Atlanta, far from home, on the phone with his mother. Not
celebrating. Surviving.
He had spent weeks in hospitals across the country — passed
from specialist to specialist, institution to institution, like a
problem nobody wanted to solve. He couldn't hold food down. He
could barely walk. He was medicated heavily just to manage
panic attacks that arose without warning, with no apparent
cause, and no end in sight.
At one of the most prestigious medical centers in the country, he
was told plainly: you don't have what we treat here. He
remembers begging to stay. He was asked to leave.
His mother's voice came through the phone steady and quiet:
"Scott. You need to come home. We don't have money left to keep
doing this."
Lying there on that cold tile floor, in one of the darkest moments
of his life, one thing kept him anchored. His daughter. Five years
old. Waiting for her dad to come home.
"I knew I was going to find something — for myself, and for her."

What the System Missed — And What He Found Instead
Dr. Richmond has been a chiropractor for over 20 years. He understands the body. But what was happening to him at that
time went far beyond what his training had prepared him for
— and far beyond what conventional medicine was willing
to investigate.
What the hospitals missed: mold illness. Lyme disease. Parasites.
Heavy metal toxicity. A cascade of chronic, compounding
conditions that don't show up cleanly on standard labs, that don't
fit neatly into billing codes, and that leave patients looking "fine
on paper" while their bodies are quietly failing from the inside out.
Over the next three years — through costly mistakes, relentless research, advanced testing, and a total reimagining of what
healing actually requires — Dr. Richmond rebuilt himself. His body.
His energy. His clarity. His life.
And then he rebuilt his practice.
A New Kind of Practice — Built From the Inside Out
When Dr. Richmond reopened his doors, he wasn't just a
chiropractor anymore. He was a functional health practitioner
who had lived the patient experience from the inside — who knew
what it felt like to be dismissed, disbelieved, and discarded by a
system that didn't have answers.
He built the approach he wished had existed when he was sick:
Clarity first. Advanced testing — far beyond what most Iowa
providers order — to quickly identify the missing links that explain
why hard-working, health-conscious people are still suffering.
Mycotoxin panels. Shoemaker Protocol markers. Advanced
thyroid assessment. Heavy metal testing. Organic acids.
And more.
The whole person. Not just the body, but the thoughts, the
emotions, the nervous system, and the environment — because
all of it determines whether the body heals or stays stuck.
A team in your corner. A practice where patients feel genuinely
heard, consistently supported, and never made to feel like a
burden or a mystery.
Empowerment, not dependence. The goal was never to make
patients reliant on a practitioner forever. It was to hand them
back their own power — with a clear map and the tools to
navigate it.
